Exterior Insulation Finishing System is often referred to as Dryvit or synthetic stucco, among many other trade names. It is a multi-layered exterior wall siding system that typically consists of three layers: The inner layer may be foam insulation board secured to the exterior wall surface with specially formulated adhesive and/or mechanical fasteners. The middle layer is generally a polymer, water-resistant base coat applied over the insulation, reinforced with fiberglass mesh for strength. The exterior later is a durable acrylic polymer finish coat to complete the process. EIFS is a complex and unforgiving cladding which requires yearly maintenance. Improper installation of the system has resulted in severe water damage to many homes, apartment buildings and commercial sites. Moisture damage can be hidden, and constant exposure to moisture can lead to rot in wood and other vulnerable mold materials in essence, the structure can be rotting from the inside out. White Glove is certified, through the Exterior Design Institute (EDI), to inspect the installation of EIFS, and qualified to determine whether proper installation techniques have been employed. We will test to determine if there has been moisture penetration. If such penetration exists, immediate repairs are strongly recommended. An annual check can be extremely important to the health of your home.
